Rand Brook Forest
Trail opportunities in Rand Brook Forest (RBF) range from the narrow path, Forest Trail, to old town roads laid out by some of Francestown’s earliest settlers in the late 1700’s.
From the intersection of Routes 136 and 47, follow Rte. 136W toward Greenfield. After 1/4 mile turn left onto Old County Road South. (After the turn, tennis courts will be on the right) After 1 mile (1 1/4 miles total) the road will fork. Bear right to continue on Old County Road South. You will see a "dead end" sign.
After an additional 1/4 mile (total 2 miles) the trail head parking area, kiosk and gate will be on your right. The road that continues beyond this point is unmaintained and impassable.
From the intersection of Routes 136 and 47, follow Rte. 47N toward Bennington. After .9 miles turn right onto Pleasant Pond Road. After .6 miles, turn left onto Old County Road North. After 1.6 miles the trailhead and kiosk will be on your left. Parking is limited
From the intersection of Routes 136 and 47, follow Rte. 47N toward Bennington. After 1.3 miles, turn left onto Campbell Hill Road. Drive ~.25 miles past a white mail box numbered 130 to a fork of dirt roads on the left (south). This is just after pavement on Campbell Hill Road. ends. The right fork is unmaintained Bullard Hill Road. (Left fork is a private driveway). At this point, cars should park along Campbell Hill Road. Be sure all cars are parked on only one side of Campbell Hill Road. The kiosk is ~.25 miles down Bullard Hill Road, the wood yard / trail head on the left.
